For the past 7 years I have been helping companies with their marketing and advertising efforts through web development, graphic design and multimedia production. I've worked as both a freelancer and in-house employee as well as volunteered my time to non-profit organizations. My goal in my work is to find the balance between beauty and function. A great looking site is useless if it doesn't work and an easy to navigate site doesn't keep the end user engaged if there's nothing to pull them in.

June 2009 - Current: Children's Cancer Research Fund - As Interactive Communications Coordinator I am the on staff web/interactive strategist/executioner. Creating new web sections/pages, email campaigns, working with the communications manager on social media integration and even some branding/collateral design here and there. I also work inside a psuedo CMS called Convio that is a web tool for non-profits. It manages the eCommerce, email campaigns, online constituent records, fundraising efforts and tools for donor engagement (surveys, registration, personal fundraising pages, etc).
Mar 2002 - Current: BJT Creative - This is my freelance business. I started it up in college from people beginning to request my services. I cut my teeth doing projects for artists, small businesses and non-profits. Though my client experience ranges from small and medium companies to artists to creative agencies my wheelhouse has become small local service based businesses offering them affordable and effective online marketing packages. When I go to work full-time for a company I slow down the amount of business I take on to give my employer priority over side jobs.
July 2008 - Dec 2008: David Knox Productions - I was the web manager for this company working inside of content management system to create new web sections and pages, make content edits as well as creating and managing email campaigns. Unfortunately they had to lay me off because of the economy in December. It was a simple "last in - first out" decision.
Feb 2005 - July 2008: International Office Technologies - I started here as a part-time graphic designer. After a couple months I was brought on full-time and added web design duties to my position. A few months after that I was promoted to Marketing Manager and from then until I left for David Knox Productions I was the man behind any and all media and marketing efforts. I also managed a handful of interns during my time there keeping them busy with support design projects and art production.
